The field at Birr is 585m grass and is orientated 36/18. Circuits are Left Handed with standard overhead join to the circuit. Birr Ground is on 122.95 and should be contacted at 5 miles for traffic advisory/wind/active runway etc. The kettle is always on the boil when we’re active and if your lucky you might even get a bun!

The field is located 1 Nm directly due South of Birr Town

Operations:

The Field is usually active on Saturdays and Sundays although there may be flying/Instruction mid week if the weather is good.

Birr ground is on 122.95

Circuit:

Standard overhead entry following radio call from 5 Nm unless otherwise advised. Left Hand Circuit.

Strip:

The Strip is 585m Grass - Touchdown at the 36 approach end has a small hill top to contend with!

Parking:

There is a large apron area close to the fuel shed and clubhouse - outside of Fly-ins, park where you want. Pilots will be directed to parking during events - follow the “Follow-me” car or members directions following taxi.

Landing Fees:

There are NO landing fees at Birr Airfield!

Fuel:

AVGAS and MOGAS are usually available on the field.

Tea:

We are famous for our tea and buns! The kettle is always on the boil when we are active and you are assured of a warm welcome.
